Live today

Exploring your city, turned into a real game.

KIN Quest puts every business on the map as a pin worth finding — and rewards actually showing up, not just tapping a screen. It's the same map you'd use to discover a business, with a reason to keep exploring. New: point your camera and scan for what's nearby in AR.

The KIN Quest map, showing amber pins for mystery businesses to discover in San Antonio
Live today

A real map, real pins, a real reason to go.

Amber means not yet verified, green means confirmed Black-owned, gold-and-lightning means a live Flash Drop right now — worth walking over for. This is an actual screenshot of the map today, not a mockup of a future version.

KIN Quest's AR Scan mode, showing nearby businesses as live markers over the camera view, with a featured business highlighted in gold
New

Scan for Quest stops in AR.

Point your phone down the block and see nearby businesses float right over the real street — how far away each one is, and what a check-in there is worth. Every business shows up, free, no matter their plan. A Featured business (Elite tier) gets its own gold glow, so it stands out without anyone else losing their spot on the map.

How it works

Find it. Go there. Prove it.

1

Find a quest pin nearby

Every business on the map can be a quest — browse and pick one to head toward.

2

Get real directions

One tap opens your phone's own map app with directions straight there.

3

Verify Location once you're there

The "Verify Location" action only unlocks once you're actually standing at the business — proximity-gated, not just a checkbox.

4

Build your KINDEX

A verified visit here is the same verification a review needs to ever count toward a business's own score. See how KINDEX works →

New

Trails & Crawls — multi-stop routes worth a badge.

Some quests aren't just one pin. A KIN Trail strings together a handful of businesses around a theme — start it, check in at each stop as you go in any order, and finish with a badge and a KINDEX bonus once the last one's verified. First one live now: the San Antonio Soul & Smoke Trail, three Eastside kitchens carrying on the city's Black-owned soul food and barbecue tradition.

Why proximity matters

A "verified" visit that anyone could fake from their couch wouldn't mean anything. Gating the check-in behind real proximity is what makes a KIN Quest visit — and every stop on a Trail — worth something on your KINDEX score, not just a badge for tapping a button.

New

Seasonal bonus points, built right into the map.

At certain points in the year, KIN Quest pays extra KINDEX points for the exact same check-ins you're already doing — no separate app, no extra steps. When a bonus window is live, you'll see it as a banner right on the map. Here's what's built in so far:
